Submission Information

Submissions will be handled online using Microsoft’s Conference Management Toolkit (CMT). To submit a proposal, visit the CMT portal using the link above and create an account. Then log in, click the “Create New Submission” button and follow the instructions. Questions regarding the CMT portal can be emailed to Jeffrey Girard. Submissions are due on February 10, 2020.

Each submission will be reviewed by the program committee while blind to the authors’ information. The program chair will then read all reviews for each submission and decide if it will be accepted as an oral presentation, accepted as a poster presentation, or rejected.

Proposals may be submitted for consideration as an “oral” or a “poster” presentation. Oral presentations are generally reserved for completed research studies, although theoretical and methodological papers will also be considered. Poster presentations can be used to report a completed research project, pilot study, or work-in-progress. Note that proposals that are not accepted as oral presentations will automatically be considered as poster presentations. Submissions must include an abstract describing the work (300 words maximum).

Registration Information

Information about registration will be added soon.

Presentation Formats

Poster Presentations
Posters should be no larger than 48″ x 36″ (width x height).

Oral Presentations
Oral presentations are given 20 min each and should be around 15 min in duration to allow around 5 min of discussion. Given that time is limited, presentations will be stopped after 20 min (with or without discussion). A projector will be made available for oral presentations.

Online Record
Presenters are encouraged (but not required) to upload their posters and oral presentations to the Open Science Framework so that they can be accessed after the meeting and by interested parties that were not able to attend. We will set up a meeting portal to group all the SITAR2020 presentations together. Adding your presentation will be as easy as sending an email. More details to follow soon!

Grants and Awards

Graduate Student Travel Grants
A limited number of travel grants for SITAR graduate student members will be available. To apply for a travel grant, select the “Consider me for a Graduate Student Travel Grant” option while registering for the conference. Applicants will need to be or to become a graduate student member of SITAR in order to be considered for an award.

Wiggins Student Award
To apply for the Jerry S. Wiggins Student Award for Outstanding Interpersonal Research, select the “Wiggins Award” option while submitting a proposal to the conference. The award is presented annually by the Society of Interpersonal Theory and Research in order to recognize and promote outstanding student research in interpersonal psychology. One award is given for the best student oral presentation given at the annual SITAR conference. More information can be found here.

Poster Award
To apply for the Poster Award, select the “Poster Award” option while submitting a proposal to the conference. After acceptance of the submission, posters should be submitted via email to <TBD>. The poster award is open to anyone – not just students! We will use a two-part judging process: The Awards Committee will evaluate the posters before the conference, creating a list of the top choices. At the conference, judges will then visit the posters of the top applicants in order to assess presentation style before determining the winner. The winner will be announced via email and SITAR listserve following the conference.
